By The Numbers: After Two Periods

Score: University of Nebraska-Omaha 1, Ferris State University 1
Shots: UNO 26, FSU 17
Power Plays: UNO 1-4, FSU 1-4
Penalties:UNO 6-23, FSU 4-8
Saves: UNO's Jerad Kaufmann 16, FSU's Taylor Nelson 25

Comments: Ferris clearly picked up its play in the second half and, to some extent, that is reflected by the shots. However, the Bulldogs did benefit from a five-minute major penalty called against defenseman Matt Smith for checking from behind. That led to an extended power play (which resulted in the game-tying goal scored by Brendan Connolly off assists from Matt Case and Evan Case. Smith also got a 10-minute game misconduct penalty. Ferris held the edge in shots during the period by a count of 13-10.
