Final: Grand Valley 78, Ferris 63

Bulldogs Fall To 3-9 Overall, 1-7 GLIAC

BIG RAPIDS - Ferris State University fell by a score of 78-63 of Grand Valley State University in women's college basketball on Monday evening in Jim Wink Arena.

Ferris fell into a deep hole during the second half and tried to climb out of it, but could never fully work its way back from large deficits to come close.

Kelsey DeNoyelles came off the bench to score 13 points and grab five rebounds in 22 minutes. The only other player to reach double digits was Chelsea Simonetti, who had 10 points. Caitlin Hutchison was close with nine points in the loss.

For the Lakers, guard Emma Veach led all scorers with 22 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists.

Kara Crawford added 18 points and Kim Wyngaard tallied 11 points.

The Lakers improve to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in the GLIAC. GVSU has won all its conference games since its loss to Ferris on Dec. 1. Conversely, Ferris has dropped all of its league games since it defeated GVSU in Allendale (Dec. 1).
