Michigan is Taking Energy to the Max

Stanely "Skip" Pruss, director of Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth, shared with the group the goals and directions Michigan is going and even leading in some cases with energy. He highlighted areas that are strengths for Michigan including our great manufacturing experience.

Pruss also talked about the recent annoucement of "Advanced Energy Storage Technology" (battery) that is coming to Michigan. These new opportunities bring with them stimulus dollars to the state.

Other topics he discussed included wind and solar energy, and energy efficiencies. Check back next week at www.ferris.edu/mec for his presentation.

The lunch session was wrapped up with Brian Olsen, regional industrial energy efficiency project manager with Department of Energy.
