"Ferris State Live" is our new Ferris State University public affairs television show broadcasted across northern Michigan through a partnership with Cadillac-based Fox 32. The show is co-hosted by Leah Nixon, assistant director of News Services at Ferris; Scott Roman, a popular local radio personality and veteran television host; and Sandy Gholston, a marketing specialist, blogger and radio announcer at Ferris, who additionally serves as the show’s executive producer. The show is produced by senior students in the Television and Digital Media Production program under the direction of TDMP assistant professor Glen Okonoski.
"Ferris State Live" features compelling interviews with faculty, staff, students and other members of our campus community.
This week’s show, which airs Thursday (Sept. 17), features one-on-one interviews with new Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Fritz Erickson and our enthusiastic and hard-working Student Government President Claire Gould. Fritz joins Leah and Scott to discuss his transition to Ferris, what attracted him to FSU and what he has learned in the time since he came on board. Claire offers our hosts insight to what Student Government at Ferris is all about, the services it offers and brings viewers up to speed on some of the current activities and recent activities the organization has been involved in.
The show concludes with a nice discussion of University news and sports with Scott and Sandy as they bring viewers up to speed on what’s going on at Ferris.
While the show is featured on Fox 32, Thursday nights at 10:30 p.m., it also is available online by clicking here and visiting the Web page for “Ferris State Live.”
The production and presentation of "Ferris State Live" is a collaborative effort that involves University Advancement and Marketing and TDMP.
