Box City Gives New Meaning To Boxing

BIG RAPIDS - Are you ready to do some boxing at Ferris State University?

No, it's not really that kind of boxing and the message behind this boxing is very real for a lot of people in the United States of America and elsewhere.

Welcome to Box City, a yearly event that takes place in October to help raise awareness about increasing poverty and homelessness. Students will spend 48 hours in boxes out in the quad and collect donations that will be given to local Habitat counties.

The event takes place Wednesday (Oct. 7) through Friday (Oct. 9) on the Campus Quad at Ferris State University.

The event is being organized by Habitat for Humanity and anyone with any questions can e-mail ferris_habitat@yahoo.com or call (313) 478-0646.
