“2009 turned out to be the ‘year of the book,’” says Nicolas. “I am exhibiting the original paintings from the three books that I published: Portraits of the Holy Molies, Many Suns, and The Diary of a Painting. The creation of these three books has been a delight and a surprise for me. My intention for this past year was to be elbow deep in clay, producing pottery. But sometimes inspiration comes and grabs me by the hand to walk upon an unknown path, and I am happy for the adventure.”
