Basketball Bonanza Was A Fun Time

BIG RAPIDS - Saturday, Jim Wink Arena on the Ferris State University campus was rocking from start to finish with basketball action.

Ferris, Chippewa Hills High School, Big Rapids High School and Saginaw Valley State University were all part of the action in this community-uniting event. In all, 1,229 fans were in attendance in Wink Arena as the day started with the Big Rapids-Chippewa Hills girls game, followed by the Ferris-Saginaw Valley women's game, the Ferris-Saginaw Valley men's game and the Big Rapids-Chippewa Hills boys game.

The all-day event on the Ferris campus was an outstanding opportunity for the Mecosta County community to come together at FSU. With Chippewa Hills representing the eastern side of the county and Big Rapids representing the western edge, the four games were part of a great event to bring people to Ferris for a day.

The Chippewa Hills High School band was in attendance and did a great job for the crowd playing not only the Warriors' traditional fight song, but also playing the Ferris fight song.

It was a great event and is additional evidence of Ferris working to build bridges between the University and local communities.
