BIG RAPIDS - Ferris State University's Television & Digital Media Production students have produced an outstanding video feature titled: "2010 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration" that now is on the FSU Web site.
TDMP students interviewed MLK Planning Committee members Michael Wade, co-chair of the committee, as well as Todd Stanislav and your's truly, Sandy Gholston.
It has been a pleasure for me to have an opportunity to serve on a committee with so many people who want to be involved in this great celebration. Mike, Todd and I took the opportunity to meet with the TDMP students for these interviews to help tell the story of what Dr. King means to us, to everyone, to our nation and to the world, but also to talk about the unique way in which Ferris State University works with dedication to keep his dream alive.
With this year's theme, "The Jim Crow Era: Then and Now," the committee wanted to show how far we've come, as a society, but how far we still must go to truly realize Dr. King's dream.
Please take a minute to check out this video. The MLK Planning Committee is particularly proud of what we feel will be an outstanding MLK celebration.
