Dr. David Pilgrim Addresses Attendees After MLK March

BIG RAPIDS - Ferris State University Chief Diversity Officer David Pilgrim participated in the Office of Multicultural Student Services Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom March on Monday afternoon.

The 2010 march began as participants assembled in the lobby of Merrill/Travis Hall on the south edge of the Big Rapids campus. Marchers, with a police escort, proceeded down State Street toward FLITE, through the Quad area and into the Rankin Student Center.

At the conclusion of the event, as marchers assembled in Rankin, Pilgrim reminded MLK Freedom Marchers to look back at how far we've come and to envision how far we can go. Pilgrim and other Ferris officials such as President David Eisler, OMSS Director Matt Chaney, Vice President for Student Affairs Dan Burcham, OMSS Assistant Director and MLK Planning Committee Co-Chair Michael Wade, MLK Planning Committee Co-Chair Hurdylyn Woods, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Fritz Erickson delivered remarks.
