Hurdylyn Woods Speaks At Rally Following Annual MLK March

BIG RAPIDS - Hurdylyn Woods, co-chair of the 2010 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Planning Committee, addressed participants in the Office of Multicultural Student Services Annual MLK Freedom March, on Monday afternoon, at Ferris State University.

The 2010 march began as participants assembled in the lobby of Merrill/Travis Hall on the south edge of the Big Rapids campus. Marchers, with a police escort, proceeded down State Street toward FLITE, through the Quad area and into the Rankin Student Center.

At the conclusion of the event, as participants assembled in Rankin, Woods (assistant director of residential programs and services in Residential Life) expressed to the MLK Freedom Marchers his words of encouragement. Pilgrim and other Ferris officials such as President David Eisler, Chief Diversity Officer David Pilgrim, Vice President for Student Affairs Dan Burcham, OMSS Director Matt Chaney, OMSS Assistant Director and MLK Planning Committee Co-Chair Michael Wade, and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Fritz Erickson delivered remarks.
