Michael Wade Speaks At Rally Following Monday's Annual MLK March

BIG RAPIDS - Michael Wade addressed participants in the Office of Multicultural Student Services Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom March, on Monday afternoon, with a message of inspiration.

Wade, assistant director of the Office of Multicultural Student Services at Ferris State University and co-chair of the MLK Celebration Planning Committee, offered a few remarks as he sought to encourage those in attendance to be active in the week of events.

Monday's highlight was the march which began as participants assembled in the lobby of Merrill/Travis Hall on the south edge of the Big Rapids campus. Marchers, with a police escort, proceeded down State Street toward FLITE, through the Quad area and into the Rankin Student Center.

At the conclusion of the event, as marchers assembled in Rankin, Pilgrim reminded MLK Freedom Marchers to look back at how far we've come and to envision how far we can go. Pilgrim and other Ferris officials such as President David Eisler, Chief Diversity Officer David Pilgrim, OMSS Director Matt Chaney, Vice President for Student Affairs Dan Burcham, MLK Planning Committee Co-Chair Hurdylyn Woods, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Fritz Erickson delivered remarks.
