Video From Ferris State University's Annual MLK Freedom March

BIG RAPIDS - Members of the Ferris State University community came together on Monday to participate in one of the signature events of the 2010 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration: The annual Office of Multicultural Student Services MLK Freedom March.

Marchers assembled in the lobby of Merrill/Travis Hall on the south edge of the Big Rapids campus. With a police escort, MLK Freedom Marchers proceeded down State Street toward FLITE, through the Quad area and into the Rankin Student Center.

In Rankin, several speakers addressed the crowd of marchers who gathered in the lounge area. Marchers heard from Ferris officials such as President David Eisler, Chief Diversity Officer David Pilgrim, OMSS Director Matt Chaney, OMSS Assistant Director, Vice President for Student Affairs Dan Burcham and MLK Planning Committee Co-Chair Michael Wade, MLK Planning Committee Co-Chair Hurdylyn Woods, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Fritz Erickson delivered remarks.
