Ferris Grad Brian Greenstein Appointed Interim Police Chief of Redford Twp.

REDFORD - Here is a story of a Ferris State University graduate taking a law enforcement leadership position, on an interim basis, in the metropolitan Detroit area:

Captain Brian Greenstein has been appointed interim chief of the Redford Township Police Department.

Greenstein, who joined the department as a cadet in 1989, took the oath of office this morning. He succeeds John Buck, who retired earlier this month after 35 years with the department.“Captain Greenstein is a very capable officer,” said Supervisor Tracey Schultz Kobylarz. “He has the most seniority in the department, and he is a valuable asset to the community.”

Another excerpt about Greenstein's appointment in Redford Township:

Under state law, the township must offer the chief’s job to internal candidates. Greenstein and fellow Captain James Turner have both registered to take the test.
Greenstein is from Wayne County and graduated from Ferris State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
