ArtPrize Speaker Series Showcases Art Experts, Artists and Designers

Ferris State University’s Kendall College of Art and Design is presenting the ArtPrize 2010 Speaker Series. The series is designed to provide an opportunity to hear from distinguished art experts, artists and designers, among others.

The speaker series began Sept. 27 and continues at 7 p.m. today (Sept. 29) with a presentation by international award jurors Colley, Viviano, Rockman and Greenwood on “International Artists and Ideas in a Midsize Midwestern Town.” A reception is set for 6 p.m.

Other presenters during the two-week series include Paul Ha, director for the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis, Oct. 5; Patricia Phillips, dean of graduate students, Rhode Island School of Design, Oct. 6; and Raphaela Platow, director and chief curator for the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, Oct. 8. For a complete listing of speakers, visit www.artprize.org/event-info/lunchbox-series.

All ArtPrize 2010 Speaker Series events are being held in The Hub – more commonly known as the public space located in the Old Federal Building at 155 N. Division Ave. The Hub was designed to foster connectivity between ArtPrize patrons and to act as ArtPrize’s command center for conversation surrounding art.

All presentations are open to the public and free. More information about ArtPrize is available at http://www.artprize.org/.
