Ferris To Host Women In Sports Day As Part Of Homecoming Activities

Ferris State University
is looking forward to celebrating Women in Sports Day on Friday (Oct. 8) with the action set to begin at 4 p.m.

For women and young girls alike, this is a time to come out and celebrate the participation of girls and women in sports. Ferris' event is open to girls, moms and female sports fans. The event is being held in conjunction with Ferris women's soccer, women's tennis, and women's volleyball action on campus in Big Rapids.

The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children or $25 for a family of four individuals. That $10 includes admission to three Bulldog women's athletic events, dinner , transportation, education about Title IX, autographed pictures of each team, giveaways and more.

The Kids' tickets are sponsored by John Milan at Preferred Office Machines.

The Schedule:

4 p.m. - Board the Ferris team charter bus

4-4:15 p.m. - Guest speakers

4:15-5 p.m. - Top Taggart Field (women's soccer match vs. Saginaw Valley State, 4 p.m.)

4:45-5 p.m. - Girls on the field for games and fun

5-6 p.m. - Racquet and Fitness Center (women's tennis match vs. Ohio Dominican, 3 p.m.)

6-6:45 p.m. - Dinner at The Rock

7 p.m. - Women's volleyball match vs. Ashland, 7 p.m., inside the Ewigleben Sports Arena
