Artworks Exhibit: The Works of Tom Krueger
The works of Tom Krueger will be on display during the Festival of the Arts Jan. 18 through Feb. 16 at the Artworks Building in downtown Big Rapids.
Artworks is located on 106 N. Michigan Ave. This event is free and open to the public.
Krueger, pottery artist, will display his architectural and vividly-colored ceramic wall hangings. Many wall hangings were inspired by the aerial land and sky views Krueger witnessed as a pilot in Vietnam.
His artwork is on permanent display at the Michigan Artist's Gallery in Suttons Bay and the Twisted Fish Gallery in Elk Rapids.
In addition to his work in ceramic art, Krueger constructs hand drums for disabled students to decorate and use in classroom workshops that he leads.
Krueger will visit the Mecosta Osceola Intermediate School District's Transition Center to lead students in "Primal Percussion" drumming and drum decoration sessions Feb. 14 through Feb. 16.
