David Pilgrim Interviewed By CUTV
Dr David Pilgrim, vice president of diversity and equity at Ferris State University and founder of the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memoribilia, came to give a lecture and workshop on "Using Objects of Intolerance to Teach Tolerance: A View from the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia". The lecture was sponsored by the Centre for Ethographic and Exhibition in the Aftermath of Violence (http://cerev.concordia.ca). The piece focuses on how David and the new museum (which will soon be moving in to a new space) can use these objects to create dialogue and understanding, and use the museum to tell a variety of stories, including stories of resistence and hope.
