Ferris State University’s Michigan Energy Conference plans to bring students’ alternative energy visions to life through its fourth annual Poster Board Competition.
More than 100 participants from Ferris will be submitting their creative energy poster designs on
Thursday, April 7 for judging on Friday, April 8. All posters will be on display in the Rankin Center Dome Room on Monday, April 11, where the top posters, according to the judges, will be announced via e-mail. The top five individuals and the top five teams will be on display during the MEC on Wednesday and Thursday, April 13 through 14.
“In the past, students have done well in researching topics relevant to energy and its affect on them and society,” said Brian Brady, coordinator of the poster competition and assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Ferris. “We expect them to do a fine job again this year.”
Conference attendees will have the opportunity to view the top posters and vote on their favorites. The final poster ranking will be announced after the judges’ scores and votes have been tallied at the event.
Top prizes will be awarded to Ferris individuals and group participants. Each division will be awarded $500 for first place, $250 for second, $125 for third, $75 for fourth and $50 for fifth.
