Artist's Talk and Round Table Discussion

Thanks to funding assistance through the mini-grant program offered by the Diversity and Inclusion Office, the Rankin Gallery will bring Mr. Fred Weston and his work to Ferris State University's campus.

Fred Weston is a New York based artist living with HIV. His work focuses on the issues of living with such a misunderstood disease.

Weston will present "A Retrospective: For Colored Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When All You Ever Needed Was the Blues."

His presentation will be on Thursday, Apr. 28 from 6 to 7 p.m. located in the Rankin Art Gallery.

Weston is a Ferris alumnus, and in 1966 was instrumental in organizing the first African American Greek Organization at Ferris, the Alpha Phi Alpha Zeta Beta Chapter.

Forty-five years later he will be celebrated by the fraternity while on campus during his exhibit, which runs through April 30 at the Rankin Art Gallery.
