Ferris State University Set For Start Of Biotechnology Camp

Beginning July 10 and running through July 15, spend a week in a research lab learning techniques and performing experiments at Ferris State University's popular Biotechnology camp:

Biotech Camp

• DNA Fingerprinting
• Forensic Biology
• Gene Cloning
• Recombinant DNA
• Microbiology

Learn how to work with bacteria, identify and clone genes of interest, and investigate crime scenes using forensic techniques.

This will be a lab-intensive experience and will also include time to work on individual and group research projects. Much of what is learned could form the foundation for a future science project.

Biotech Camp

There Will Be No Boring Lectures!

Learn what it would be like to be a research scientist working in the areas of genetics, molecular biology, and forensics. Learn about Ferris' biotechnology program and scholarship opportunities for incoming biotechnology students.

This is an excellent opportunity to explore one of the most rapidly developing and fascinating fields of biology.

If you are a student who is interested in genetics, cancer, viruses, bacteria, recombinant DNA, forensic biology, or medical research, you will want to take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn in a laboratory setting!

Students will be housed and provided meals in residence halls at Ferris State University. The University provides chaperons, also housed in the residence hall and students will be supervised 24 hours a day while attending the academy.

Cost: $650 Residence Hall, $585 Commuter. Includes materials and supplies, instruction, residence hall room (unless commuter), meals and campus activities.
