Expect Diversity Features Talk About The Jim Crow Museum


Here is an episode of the "Expect Diversity" program hosted by David Pilgrim, vice president for Diversity and Inclusion at Ferris State University.

What Guest Speakers Would You Like To See Come To Ferris?


Ferris State University is known to have a lot of different speakers come to campus to speak on a number of different issues.

We asked a few students who (or what kinds of speakers) they would like to see come to campus.

Great Speakers On Campus Tonight

Ferris State University has two great events taking place tonight (Thursday, Sept. 29).

Travis Apgar will be on campus tonight to discuss the issue of hazing and talk about how he suffered from it as a new college student.

Apgar will speak at 7 p.m. in Williams Auditorium.

Also at 7 p.m., as part of Hispanic Heritage Month activities on campus, spoken word artist Michael Reyes will perform in Quiznos Cafe in the Rankin Student Center.

Be in attendance for one of these great activities on campus.

College hockey season is just around the corner and Ferris State University's squad is getting ready for what could be another banner season on the ice.

Ferris State University's Student Ambassadors held their annual dunk tank event to raise money for American Red Cross disaster relief efforts and to have a good time ... all at the same time.

Ferris State University Hockey Tickets Are Now On Sale


Single-game tickets for all 2011-12 Ferris State University hockey home contests are now on sale. All tickets are available as supplies last.

The FSU Athletics Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday gamedays starting at 12 p.m. They will also offer special extended hours on Wednesday's thru the end of the season until 7 p.m. For more information on ticket sales, please contact the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888.

Single-game tickets for hockey may be purchased through the following methods:
  • Stopping by the FSU Athletics Ticket Office (Ewigleben Sports Complex)
  • Rankin Center on the FSU Campus
  • West Michigan Meijer Stores (Customer Service)
  • By Calling Star Tickets at 1-800-585-3737 or

The ticket pricing structure for the 2011-12 Bulldog hockey campaign is as follows:

Single-Game Tickets:
Adults - $12
Senior Citizens - $10
Faculty/Staff - $10
Kids K-12 - $6
FSU Dawg Pound Students - $6 with valid ID
FSU Reserved Student - $8 with vaild ID

Premium Single-Game Tickets:
Jan. 27-28 vs. Michigan State University
$16 per person
$6 for FSU Students with valid ID

Meijer Family 4 Pack:
Available on a limited basis for all games except MSU
$36 - family nights include four tickets, four pops and four hot dogs

Video: Cover the Seal Benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital


Ferris State University's Student Alumni Gold Club organization led the "Cover the Seal" event that asked people to bring pocket change to the Campus Quad. The idea was to cover the university seal as a way of donating to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Ferris' Kendall College Of Art And Design Sponsors ArtPrize Speaker Series

Ferris State University's Kendall College of Art and Design is sponsoring the ArtPrize Speaker Series and the event kicks off tonight in Grand Rapids with Reed Kroloff from Cranbrook Academy of Art and Art Museum.

This event should be a great opportunity to show how Ferris is supporting art in West Michigan through the continuing efforts of ArtPrize.

ZB Alphas: March of Dimes Fundraiser

Ferris State University's Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, Zeta Beta Chapter is having its Fall Biggby fundraiser to benefit the March of Dimes.

Any one interested in donating to this cause can attend the event on Monday, Sept. 26, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Biggby Coffee in Big Rapids or speak to a member of the fraternity.

Those who donate and/or make a purchase at Biggby will be entered into a raffle for prizes.
