Bring Your Pup, and Participate in Paws in the P.A.R.C. 5K Fun Run and Walk

Registration is under way for Paws in the P.A.R.C., a 5K Fun Run and Walk in Hemlock Park to benefit the Animal Rescue Coalition of Mecosta County.

The Saturday, Oct. 12 event is being presented by the Health Care Management Association and PetSavers, two registered student organizations at Ferris State University.

Participants can run or walk the 5K course, and can bring their dogs, too. Pre-registration is $10 at the Good Dog Bakery, 120 N. Michigan Ave. Suite 5, in downtown Big Rapids, by calling (231) 796-2683 or emailing

Run-day registration is $15 and begins at noon. The 5K Fun Run and Walk will begin at 1 p.m. in the park, located at the east end of Hemlock Street and Warren Avenue.

Proceeds from the event will go to A.R.C., a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter in Big Rapids. For more information about A.R.C., visit its website here:
