Festival of Nations Soccer Event

Festival of Nations celebrations continue at Ferris State University this weekend.  The Community vs. International soccer games begin with kickoff at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The community team will go up against the international team to determine the best skilled. President David Eisler will be doing the kickoff for the games.

The mini-tournament will take place at the Big Rapids Industrial Field. This is a free event.

"He. She. Us." Exhibit will continue today.

Today, Oct. 23 is the last day of the "He. She. Us." exhibit on the first floor of Helen Ferris Hall.

"He. She. Us." is an exhibit to define gender, explore the common stereotypes, gender inequality, and transgender experiences. It is sponsored by the Office of Housing and Residence Life's Harmony Project committee.

The exhibit will include a variety of statistics, photos and "artifacts" of the experiences that are being conveyed and talked about.

The hours for this exhibit are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

Comedian Sammy Obeid to Perform at Ferris State



Entertainment Unlimited, the campus programming board, brings in Comedian Sammy Obeid to perform at Ferris State University at on Oct. 22, at 8 p.m.

The event is free for Ferris students and will take place in the Brophy/McNearny Residence Hall lobby.

Obeid is known for performing 1,000 days of consecutive comedy. He started this streak on Dec. 26, 2010 and ended on Sept. 21, 2013.

Obeid has worked alongside comedians such as Robin Williams, Russel Peters, Dana Carvey and many more.
